GTCO CalComp Announces New 54” Wide Scanners for GIS, CAD and Reprographic Professionals

September 26, 2003–GTCO CalComp announced today the addition of a line of 54” scanners to the ScanPlus IV scanner family. The addition of these new sizes extends the range of available scanner sizes to match a wide variety of scanner needs. The ScanPlus IV line includes 25”, 36”, 40” and now 54” scanners.

“The new 54” scanners came about as a result of the increasing demands of customers to provide a high quality, fast, wide format scanner,” says Rob Meissner, VP of Marketing. “GTCO CalComp has a long history of listening to its customers and providing them what they need to be more successful. These 54” scanners are just the latest evidence of a long string of successful, customer-driven additions to our product line.”

The ScanPlus IV 954C series is designed for optimal performance in both color and black and white. A new All-Wheel-Drive system maintains a firm grip on very wide originals, resulting in a straight scan path. The Automatic Thickness Adjustment Control ensures easy, effective and precise scanning of large and thick media.

The ScanPlus IV family of scanners incorporates versatility by providing an upgrade option via the addition of a simple smart card. The upgrade can be done in the field and can add speed, resolution and  in some cases enable a monochrome scanner to perform color scanning.

Scan Plus IV scanners are available in a variety of models, offering scan widths from 25” to 54” and image resolution from 600 to 2400 dpi. Scan Plus IV scanners come with a one-year on-site warranty in the Continental U.S.  A variety of color and monochrome models are available, with prices starting as low as $8,900.
